Italy, the land of unparalleled beauty, rich history, and delectable cuisine, has always been a dream destination for travelers. Recently, I had the opportunity to explore this captivating country, with stops in Milan, Florence, and the enchanting Lake Como. What made my journey even more special was that I decided to do it in style, sporting my brand-new Sir W. Core Collection.
Merino is the perfect travel option, as it’s extremely comfortable and stylish but is naturally odor resistant- meaning you can travel light! Just a few items of clothing can replace a whole suitcase. For example, on this three week trip I only took a carry on bag, all thanks to the adaptability of Merino. Which was a life saver when it came to moving around between cities and hotels!
My Italian journey began on the plane. I wanted to ensure I was comfortable during the flight so I was dressed head-to-toe in Sir W. Merino. Our 100% Merino fabrics are the best thing to travel in, so I wore the Signature Shorts paired with the Angus Relaxed Tee. It was breathable and kept me warm when the plane got a little cooler during the flight.
Once I landed, I was in the heart of fashion, Milan. The city exuded elegance and sophistication at every turn, making it the perfect place to debut my new line. Most of the Italian luxury brands; Zegna, Loro Piana etc, all use Australian Merino wool in their products, so it felt appropriate.
I explored Milan's iconic landmarks, from the magnificent Duomo to the historic Sforzesco Castle, all while feeling fresh and comfortable in my Signature short and Angus Relaxed Tee. The breathable and moisture-wicking properties kept me comfortable throughout the day, whether I was strolling through the city or indulging in mouthwatering Italian gelato.
Next, I journeyed to Florence, the cradle of the Renaissance. This city felt like a living museum, with its remarkable architecture and world-renowned art. I decided the Bruce Button Down shirt was the perfect choice for exploring the countless galleries, palaces, and churches. Offering a sophisticated look while explore these incredible sights.
In the Uffizi Gallery, home to masterpieces by Botticelli, Michelangelo, and Leonardo da Vinci, I felt the perfect blend of comfort and style as I admired art that has shaped human culture for centuries. Florence is known for its warm, sunny days, and me Merino attire helped me stay cool and relaxed as I strolled along the picturesque Arno River and crossed the famous Ponte Vecchio.
The grand finale of my Italian journey took place at the breathtaking Lake Como, where I was attending my good friend's wedding. The tranquil beauty of the lake and the surrounding mountains provided a serene backdrop for the celebration. My Sir W. Core Collection kept me feeling effortlessly sharp and took me from casual daytime excursions around the lake and including a boat tour on it.
During the day, I explored the charming villages of Bellagio, Varenna, and Menaggio, all while donning the Signature Short and George Polo. The fabric's natural temperature regulation kept me comfortable as I took in the picturesque views of the lake.
When the actual the wedding arrived, most of the guests were actually wearing Australian Merino, although many did not even know it. The world’s best suiting fabrics are made from Australian Merino, ironically spun and woven just a stone’s throw away from Lake Como in the town of Biella.
My Italian adventure through Milan, Florence, and Lake Como was a journey filled with art, culture, and stunning landscapes. Throughout the trip, my choice to wear Merino was a brilliant decision. The fabric's comfort, breathability, and adaptability allowed me to explore with ease and style.
Italy's unique blend of history, culture, and natural beauty was beautifully complemented by my Core Collection. It's safe to say that this Italian adventure was not only stylish but also incredibly comfortable, making my trip all the more memorable.
